The Girl Code

Tags:

We've all heard of the codes...The Girl Code, The Bro Code. Let's define the breach of trust that evolves in this sidebar scroller as a voilation of...The Woman Code. The names of the characters in this story have been changed to protect the innocent, and left unchanged to implicate the guilty!

Our heroine, Kate, meets Joe. Neither of them were looking for anything serious, just a casual friend with benefits situation. All is well...until...Danielle, Kate's "friend" insists on hanging out with Joe and his male friends, of which Kate is not interested in doing because she's a lightweight when it comes to drinking. When these people get together the night basically involves consuming alcohol (it's beer and mixed shots) untill you've passed out (Joe) or drink till you call (or text) the people you know who presently, or in the past have hurt you, tell them how much they have and that you hate them for it, then cry your eyes out, and play yourself off as a helpless victim, and manipilating them into believing the way she feels is actually their responsibility (Danielle).

The story unfolds into a get together of the three of them for drinks. Most of the night, Joe ignores Kate while chatting up Danielle. Some guy even came over to Danielle, offered to buy her a drink...even though he noticed she was with her man. That's how obvious it looked to others at the bar that the two of them were a couple!

The evening is still young so the trio heads on over to Joe's place. By now, the two of them, Joe and Danielle are pretty drunk. Joe is still dressed at this point. Danielle decides to remove her pants, and parade around in front of Joe and Kate in her underwear. When asked to put her pants back on, she declines.

Danielle's behavior, which was of course, acceptable to Joe, who then decided to spend the night in his underwear, caused Kate a bit of distress. Understandably so because she believes Joe to be out to bed the most women he can without the "headache" of a relationship. Well, here's a newsflash boys...a strictly sexual arrangement between two consenting adults, is a relationship whether you want one or not and you had better be prepared for the complexities and emotional entanglements of such. If you want a "no strings" sexual relationship with a woman, visit a prostitute or better yet, a sex therapist who can help you figure out why your life is so emotionally barren that you prefer to have sex with women who care nothing about you as a person, or a human being.

The underwear escapade led to a huge fight between Kate and Danielle. Kate feels that it was disrespectful of Danielle to be in a state of undress while intoxicated in front of a man, who Kate has strong feelings for, even though she has no commitment or promise from him. She feels Danielle violated her trust. Danielle insists Kate is "making something, out of nothing", that she and Joe are just friends! But after witnessing their cozy behavior in the bar, the removing of the pants, Joe touching her, the sexual innuendo in the room, and getting awfully close to her, consoling her as she's making those emotional drunk phone calls she's famous for, Kate has had just about enough. She snaps some photos as evidence, and calls it a night.

Our heroine, Kate, decides to stop seeing them both. She ends her friendship with Danielle because Danielle refuses to acknowledge that her behavior hurt Kate. Kate can only imagine how much further their behavior takes the two of them when she's absent from the picture!

As far as Joe is concerned, he doesn't, concern Kate any longer, because she now sees him for who he is, not who she wanted him to be.

Kate has a relationship with someone that even she defines as "nothing serious" which leaves both Kate and Joe open to exploring other options. It's unfortunate that Kate had to witness this encounter but this kind of stuff could have been happening anyway, with other women when Kate wasn't with him. So Kate shouldn't be so hard on Drunk Danielle and Drunk Joe who lost inhibitions while under the influence. And I'd tell Kate to not be so hard on herself for developing a crush on Joe. It's really hard to be in a "nothing serious" relationship when you have an emotional connection to someone. Honestly, the best "nothing serious" relationships are with hot, stupid men that you see absolutely no romantic potential with. Perhaps that's the kind of guy Kate should look for in the future if she doesn't want anything serious?

Dreamerella...that kind of stuff, was happening. Kate cut the loser loose. She's rethinking what she wants, and more importantly deserves, from a relationship.
